- Brief information about what brings you to counselling
- Notes from sessions (kept securely and confidentially)

Your information is used solely for the purpose of providing counselling and ensuring safe, ethical practice. We will never share your data with third parties unless:
- We are legally required to do so (e.g. risk of harm to yourself or others, or legal disclosure)
- You have given us explicit consent
Data Storage
All records are stored securely and in line with professional and legal requirements. Session notes are kept separately from your contact details and are retained for up to 7 years before being safely destroyed.
Confidentiality
Everything you share with your counsellor remains confidential, except in exceptional circumstances where there is a risk of harm or legal obligation to disclose. These boundaries are explained clearly in your counselling agreement.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Ask for corrections or deletion (where appropriate)
- Withdraw consent for data use
- Raise a concern about data handling
